Hi test sites!
We're eager to help you get started with your student improvement practicums and to see your results. Over the next two weeks, we're hosting one-on-one launch calls with each site. We'll share the notes from those calls and from your progress over the next few months here. University of Toronto Launch Call Notes Partner Organizations: --They're working with 3 organizations (outreach was done by students and faculty) Number of Projects: --They'll start 4 new projects by the end of the year (December) Timeline: --They estimate it will take approximately one month per PDSA cycle --They'll plan to share their first PDSA results at the end of Feb/early March --They'll be done with the pracitum 2-3 months after the start (March) Project focus/scope: --They'd identified projects that are already in progress and are evidence-based --The projects are not necessarly owned/started by the students --Students meet w/project lead on site who cangive them context for the project (projects are often in progress) Challenges: --Because of schedule conflicts, it is unlikely the students will actually be able to carry out two consecutive PDSA cycles in person; they expect the students will speak with the organization to learn about the results for the second PSDA and fill out the form. Then, they'll plan and carry out a third PDSA cycle. --The students won't have enough time to complete all of the IHI Open School courses before starting the projects, but they will complete the courses by the end of the academic year. Please feel free to reach out to the other sites participating in this test when you'd like to celebrate a success, share a tip, or would like a new perspective on a challenge you face.
